Puja Jain is a designated partner at sustainability-focused asset manager Generation Investment Management, where she oversees a high-performing global equity fund. She has over 17 years’ experience in sustainable investing, including developing frameworks to integrate environmental, social and bio-diversity factors into investment strategy. Puja is a board trustee at FLOWW and a member of the European Council for The Nature Conservancy. She was appointed to the board on 1 September 2026.

Thomas Kyriakoudis is a highly experienced investor with a 25-year career spanning some of Europe’s most prominent financial institutions and has a long-term commitment to responsible investing. He is a partner at LGT Capital Partners and an investment committee member of the LGT Endowment. Thomas is also a member of the investment committee that oversees the £150m endowment at Girton College, Cambridge. He will join the board on 1 April 2027.

Non-executive director Chris Hitchen, who has served on the Scott Trust Endowment board since 2023 and prior to that was a member of the Scott Trust investment committee since 2018, steps down on 31 March 2027. During this time Chris made an invaluable contribution to the STEL board, bringing to bear his expertise, experience and wisdom at a critical time in the endowment’s evolution.

Tracy Corrigan, chair of the Scott Trust Endowment board said:

“I’m delighted to welcome Puja and Thomas to help steer our work supporting the Guardian. Puja and Thomas are both highly experienced investment professionals whose deep expertise and insight will be crucial in helping the Endowment deliver on its long-term aims, underpinned by our sustainable investment values. I would also like to thank Chris for his invaluable guidance in his role as investment committee then STEL board member over the last eight years.”

Puja Jain said:

I am passionate about the future of sustainable investment and look forward to joining the Scott Trust Endowment board, using my investment expertise to play a role in maintaining independent journalism.”

Thomas Kyriakoudis said:

“The Scott Trust Endowment’s mission resonates deeply with both my professional experience and personal values. I am delighted to join the board and I look forward to using my investment experience to support its performance and governance.”

About The Scott Trust Ltd

The ultimate owner of the Guardian is the Scott Trust, which was originally created as a trust in 1936 to safeguard the title’s journalistic freedom. In 2008 it was replaced by a limited company with the same core purpose as the original trust: to secure the financial and editorial independence of the Guardian in perpetuity, while its secondary purpose is to champion its principles and to promote freedom of the press in the UK and elsewhere.
