Eurovision song contest | Egyptian language | Charley Boorman

• A preview of the Eurovision song contest in tomorrow’s pre-printed What’s On supplement (Hey there, disco lips!, p2) features Ireland and Australia; however, both were knocked out in the second semi-final. Also, the UK jury spokesperson is now Sophie Ellis-Bextor rather than Ncuti Gatwa. These errors were in print only.

• The Egyptian language was supplanted by Arabic from the seventh century AD, not BC (Could the English language die out?, 10 May, Saturday magazine, p59).

• A TV preview said Long Way Home was Charley Boorman’s first major expedition since a serious motorcycle accident in 2016. He filmed Long Way Up, from southern Argentina to California, in 2019 (Streaming, 3 May, What’s On, p6).
