Yvette Cooper | Newcastle city council

• An article said Yvette Cooper was travelling to Japan rather than the Gulf; this should have said she was going to Japan via the Gulf (Who’s in charge?, 16 April, p9).

• An article said Labour had run Newcastle city council “for decades”. In fact, it led the council from 2011 before losing its majority in 2024, though it remains the largest party (Why Muslim voters are turning away from Labour to the Greens, 11 April, p22).
