Costa del Sol shooting | Defined benefit pensions

• The fatal shooting of Eddie Lyons Jr and Ross Monaghan in Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol took place on 31 May last year, not 8 June (A brutal tale of TikTok-friendly Scottish gangsters, firebombings, and murders marking the peak of a 25-year feud: Now could the war really be over?, 1 August, p37).

• An article looking at the benefits and disadvantages of consolidating pension schemes (Could combining pots boost your retirement income?, 1 August, p48) said that a defined benefit pension was “also known as a final salary pension”. While a final salary pension is a common type of defined benefit pension, there are others, including career average pensions.
