Philomena’s law | Crown prosecutors

• A report (Mother and baby home survivors lose benefits after accepting payouts, 9 March, p20) said a bill known as Philomena’s law, aimed at ringfencing those benefits, was due for a second reading on 28 March. In fact the bill’s second reading was scheduled for 28 March last year.

• Crown prosecutors conduct prosecutions, not investigations (Huge under-reporting of suicides linked to domestic violence, 16 February, p12 from p1). Also, research from the Domestic Homicide Project relates to England and Wales only.
