Ramy Youssef’s excellent show finally returns to UK terrestrial TV. Plus: a post-apocalyptic origin story. Here’s what to watch this evening

Ramy

Four years on from its release, the third season of Ramy Youssef’s great comedy drama about a deeply flawed Muslim American gets a UK terrestrial airing. The good news is that it has aged rather brilliantly: in particular, the second episode of this double bill featuring a disastrous Tinder date. Hannah J Davies

Elgar at the Proms

7pm, BBC Four
A night celebrating the great British composer. Ryan Wigglesworth leads the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra through Elgar’s First Symphony, plus there’s archive footage of Sheku Kanneh-Mason’s earlier Proms performance of the composer’s much loved Cello Concerto. Alexi Duggins

Granite Harbour

8pm, BBC One
A workmanlike Scottish crime drama now in its third season, with the bones of the story becoming visible in this, the middle of three episodes. The discovery of a murder weapon leads DC Lindo (Romario Simpson) and team to think they know what they’re dealing with, but then further information leads them down an even darker path. Jack Seale

Station Eleven

9pm, Sky Atlantic

This adaptation of the bestselling post-apocalypse novel starts with a flashback episode to 2005 – and it shows the origins of the Station Eleven graphic novel. In Chicago, Miranda (Danielle Deadwyler) is drawing first sketches of Dr Eleven when an actor, Arthur (Gael García Bernal), takes an interest. Hollie Richardson

More funny, and at times deeply touching, comedy about a widow and her socially awkward robot. Sue (Sue Johnston) and her carer droid Linda (Diane Morgan) go on a trip to the seaside, where a fortune-teller gives Sue a message from her late husband, telling her to have fun! HR

Grimsburg

9.30pm, Sky One
Jon Hamm’s gravelly tones voice a pot-bellied police detective in this silly adult cartoon. Marvin Flute returns to his home of Grimsburg – “The town I left behind like a perfectly timed elevator fart” – to solve bizarre cases. HR

Film

Normal (Ben Wheatley, 2025), 8.25am, 8pm, 1.10am, Sky Cinema Premiere
If you’ve seen Bob Odenkirk in the black ops caper Nobody you’ll know what to expect from Ben Wheatley’s spry thriller. The actor plays Ulysses Richardson, the temporary sheriff of the small town of Normal, Minnesota. There’s nothing normal about Normal, of course, which Ulysses discovers when a bank heist goes wrong and he realises it’s not the robbers he has to be worried about. The slapstick gunplay of Wheatley’s own Free Fire mingles with the deadpan drama of Fargo and the still delicious incongruity of Odenkirk packing heat. Simon Wardell
